Start with a $10 monthly subscription. Take out fees. Take out delivery. Split what remains in half. Then distribute the rights-holder half by what was actually watched that month. In practice, each subscriber votes with their wallet through their own monthly watch habits.
Monthly subscription paid in.
Assumed 3% + $0.30.
Assume four watched films in the month total about $0.20 in delivery.
This is the amount that gets split.
Half of the post-cost subscription revenue. This side gets allocated across the titles a subscriber actually watched that month.
The other half stays with the platform after fees and delivery are already removed.
Default example: two full films and two half-watched films. Move the four sliders and the rights-holder pool re-allocates live. SVOD payout is per user's watch habits each month, so every subscriber is effectively casting a spending vote toward the films they finish.
The $4.60 rights-holder pool follows that subscriber's viewing mix for the month.
If the month is split between two full watches and two half watches, the pool naturally settles around 33.3%, 33.3%, 16.7%, and 16.7%.
The subscription starts as one concrete dollar amount instead of an abstract pool.
Fees and delivery come out first, visibly, before any split happens.
The rights-holder side then maps directly onto what was watched that month.
